Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan held at Sri City

Sri City, Aug 25 (INN): Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan was carried out at the premises of Frontier Lifeline Emergency Care Centre (ECC) & Sankara Netralaya in Sri City on Tuesday.
Anil K. Choudhary, Development Commissioner (DC), Sri City participated in the programme, which was an ongoing activity under the 'clean & green' campaign initiated on October 2, 2014 in Sri City, as per the Prime Minister's call.
Addressing the gathering, Choudhary explained the importance of Swachchta Abhiyaan, and appealed all the units, to take up the cleaning activity on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of every month for keeping Sri City more clean and green.
Commenting on the Swachh Bharat campaign initiated by the DC, Ravi Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City said, "Sri City was built on the dictum of a clean, green, breathe-easy environment to work and live-in. Programmes of this kind, with the active participation of all units, will certainly help in maintaining 'Swachh Sri City." He thanked the DC for motivating and encouraging all the stakeholders to devote some hours out of their activities and work towards cleanliness of surroundings.
Choudhary, P.S.B. Sastry, Assistant Development Commissioner, and other officials of DC's office, Dr. Vamshi Pradhan and staff of Frontier Lifeline ECC and Sankara Netralaya, and a team of Sri City officials actively participated in the programme. They all cleaned the surroundings of the hospital, removed weeds, waste materials and boulders, and planted saplings. At the end, all the participants took 'swachhta pledge' administered by Choudhary.
