Third Front can be a force to reckon with, says Pawan Kalyan

Hyderabad, Mar 8:Jana Sena president and actor Pawan Kalyan on Wednesday said the Third Front proposed by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had the potential to emerge as a voice that can influence government policies and decisions. "While it is still early to say if it will come to power, there is no doubt that it will be a group that can influence government policies and decisions," Pawan Kalyan told reporters here. Reiterating his support for the Third Front as an alternate to the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance and the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance, the Jana Sena chief said: "There is a need for an independent voice in politics and a Third Front has the potential to become a pivotal and strong alternative force." Pawan Kalyan, who was one of the first to extend support to the Third Front, said: "When existing political alliances do not represent the voices of the people, space is created for an alternate political force. It can comprise a large or small groups, even a party that has just two MPs in Parliament." Making it clear that choices have to be made for the welfare of the people, he said: "The question that remains is just how far is one prepared to go to represent those unheard voices to ensure their needs and just demands are met by the government." The Central government, he said, does not hesitate to deploy agencies such as the Central Bureau of Investigation and the Income Tax Department to harass and intimidate anyone who raises a voice against the country's ruling party in New Delhi
