Telangana is now a vaccine hub, says KTR

Vishwas News

Hyderabad, Feb 23:Industries and IT Minister K T Rama Rao on Thursday said it was a matter of pride that Telangana State has come to be recognised as the vaccine hub of India and the world, producing about 33 per cent of global vaccines dosages and significantly contributing to the elimination of pain and disease globally.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the annual BioAsia Summit here, the Minister said the State had further strengthened its leadership position in life sciences innovation and manufacturing hubs by contributing more than 35 per cent to the pharmaceutical production in the country.
Stating that the life sciences sector compliments Information Technology, Rama Rao said India in general and TS, in particular, have been globally recognized as leaders in the sectors. "No global industry leader from these two sectors can afford to miss visiting the State if they are looking at India. In fact, we want the world to be in a dilemma whether to call Telangana a leader in technology or life sciences," he said.
The Minister said world-class infrastructure, cluster approach and availability of manpower continues to attract major global and Indian life sciences companies to the State. The establishment and development of Genome Valley, Pharma City, Medical Devices Park makes Hyderabad a unique destination providing a complete ecosystem for global life sciences companies, he said, adding that BioAsia, as a platform, had played a crucial role in the journey of Hyderabad to become the global destination for life sciences.
On the IALA status accorded to Genome Valley, Rama Rao said it enables single point administration of the cluster, facilitating companies in the Valley a single point contact for all Government related approvals and further facilitate infrastructure development in the cluster.
"IALA will be a game changer for the cluster and herald a new era of development. This is a testimony of the commitment of the State government towards facilitating 'Ease of Doing Business' in line with our recognition as the best industry-friendly State in the country," he said.
