Over 10k students take part in Osmania University Centenary Run

Hyderabad, Mar 11:More than 10,000 students took part in the Osmania University Centenary Run held at the campus on Saturday morning. Starting at the Arts Colleges, the Run touched College of Law, Ladies Hostel, University College of Engineering, NCC gate before returning and culminating at Arts College.
Apart from the OU teaching and non-teaching staff, alumni and retired officials of the university also took part in the event.
A festive mood descended on the campus with some students dancing to drum beats and music director, Bhole Shivali with his centenary celebrations song, was well received by the participants. Several of the foreign students pursuing different courses in the universtiy were also seen taking active part.
With the Governor, E.S.L.Narasimhan, who was to flag-off the Run not making it to the venue for unavoidable reasons, the activity was flagged-off by the university Vice-Chancellor Prof. S Ramachandram.
Meanwhile, the event was marred with protest by a section of students. No sooner the VC flagged-off the Run, about 30 students raised slogans demanding notifications for government jobs and also facilities on the campus hostels.
