Irrigation Dept Chief Engineer in ACB net

Hyderabad, July 7:The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday unearthed disproportionate assets worth over Rs 5 crore allegedly amassed by the Chief Engineer of Irrigation and CAD Department K Suresh Kumar, during simultaneous raids conducted at his and his relatives houses.
Searches are going on at the house of Suresh in Karimnagar. Three bank lockers in Karimnagar would be opened on Saturday, officials said.
During searches, Suresh was found to have acquired two houses, three flats and ten plots in Hyderabad and Karimnagar. Officials found two houses worth over Rs 1.05 crore in Karimnagar, a flat costing Rs 18 lakh at Manikonda, another flat worth Rs 15 lakh at Yousufguda and one more flat at Karimnagar costing Rs 4.16 lakh.
Ten open plots worth over Rs 64.40 lakh, two cars costing Rs 8 lakh, a motorcycle worth Rs 30,000, 63 tulas gold ornaments worth over Rs 5.3 lakh, net cash of Rs 2.5 lakh, fixed deposits of Rs 16 lakh, bank balances of Rs 23 lakh, insurance policies of Rs 3.5 lakh and household articles at rented house in Hyderabad worth Rs 6.74 lakh were also detected.
A press release here said the document value of these assets was approximately Rs 2.7 crore while the market value was Rs 5 crore.
