Hyderabad varsity PhD scholar sets herself ablaze

Hyderabad, May 16:A 25-year-old PhD research scholar of the Hyderabad Central University allegedly attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze in her hostel room on Wednesday morning.
According to the police, the woman was identified as Neetu Das from Odissa. She is a student of Plant Sciences at the university.
The reason for the suicide attempt is yet to be known, but her poor performance in academics is suspected to be the reason, police said.
She sustained burns on her back and was shifted to the Osmania General Hospital, where she is being treated. No case has been booked yet.
