Hyderabad Metro now has Ladies Only coach

Vishwas News

Hyderabad, May 7:The Hyderabad Metro Rail now has a space reserved exclusively for women, as part of its efforts to make Metro commuting a safe affair for women.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited managing director NVS Reddy, L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) managing director and CEO KVB Reddy, along with table tennis player Naina Jaiswal launched the Ladies Only coach on the Metro from the Ameerpet Station here on Monday.
The coach is one of the three on the Metro trains, with over 60 percent of the seats reserved for women. This, apart from 54 cameras covering every nook and cranny of each Metro station, and more CCTV cameras offering a 360 degree view of every coach from inside, would ensure safety for women on the Metro services, NVS Reddy said, adding that security was being enhanced with the involvement of the Hyderabad Police SHE Teams as well.
This apart, an entire Metro station dedicated for women, operated by women staff only and with an exclusive shopping complex for women too, was on the anvil at the Madhura Nagar Station. Work on the Taruni Complex Metro Rail Station was progressing fast, Reddy added.
