Heritage facade to come up in Hyderabad's Charminar area

Vishwas News

Hyderabad, Feb 23:Shops in the Charminar area will soon have uniform display boards, while a heritage facade too will come up in the area surrounding the historic monument in Hyderabad's old city.
The changes will be brought about as part of the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project (CPP), according to Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary Arvind Kumar.
Arvind Kumar, who inspected the CPP and related works on Friday along with officials concerned, said the changes including uniform display boards and the heritage facade would be part of the shops in Lad Bazaar in Phase I of CPP.
Minister KT Rama Rao, responding to a tweet from Arvind Kumar, appreciated the review by the senior officer on the CPP, and asked him to 'integrate learnings' from his recent visit to the Golden Temple redevelopment in Amritsar as requested by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi.
Rao also asked Arvind Kumar to expedite the work 'which has been neglected for decades'.
In reply, Arvind Kumar said the learnings would be integrated and that a team would shortly be sent to Istanbul, Turkey to study integration and synergisation of architecture, heritage, pedestrianisation, transport and tourism and incorporate or replicate the same.
