Finally Telangana State Wakf Board constituted

Hyderabad, Feb 24:Nearly two years after formation of Telangana State the State Wakf Board was constituted on Friday. Mohammed Saleem, TRS MLC was elected as the Chairman of the first Telangana State Wakf Board constituted by the State government on Thursday.
There are total 11 members in the board including a woman. All the members attended a meeting the State Wakf Board office at Haj House after the Friday prayers. The members then elected Mohammed Saleem as the Chairman of the board.
Mr. Saleem, will be heading the board for the second time. He earlier held the post in the board in undivided Andhra Pradesh. The Telangana government
AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, AIMIM Bahadurpura legislator Mohammed Moazzam Khan, M. Zakeer Hussain Javid, Mirza Anwar Baig, Syed Akbar Nizamuddin,
Mallik Motasim Khan, Dr Nissar Hussain (Hyder Aga), IPS officer Tafseer and Waheed Ahmed, advocate, Dr Sofia Begum were the other members elected and nominated under various categories.
After the formation of Telangana state, a separate Wakf Board was created in September 2015, which was being run under the competent authority.
Few persons approached Hyderabad High Court seeking elections to the Board. The court had directed the government to hold elections and nominate members by February 24 and constitute it.
The government held the elections for members of elected category in January and nominated the five members on Thursday.
