Digital health profile for every citizen in Telangana

Vishwas News

Hyderabad, April 7:The Telangana government is embarking on a mammoth task to prepare a health profile of every citizen in the State and to go for digitisation of the same to ensure timely treatment.
The initiative is likely to be launched shortly and the best technology would be used for the project, MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao said. He also said this would be another new chapter in the healthcare system of the country with Telangana taking the initiative.
The digital health profile would have all important details of an individual - blood group, health history and allergies, among other factors. This would come in handy while administering treatment during the golden hour. Doctors can access the details through iris scan, fingerprint or Aadhaar number.
Based on the health record of an individual, doctors can start treating without wasting time on ascertaining blood group and other details, Rao said.
Unlike previous governments, the TRS government was committed in extending quality health and education for the people of the State. Towards this, a Medical Devices Park was also coming up, he said. The idea was to cut down medical expenditure for the people. Most people spend a lot on health, and manufacturing medical devices in the State will help reduce the cost of devices, eventually benefitting the people, the Minister said.
TR assures to address docs' woes
MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao on Friday said doctors serving in government hospitals, including Osmania and Gandhi Hospitals, were doing a commendable job. Despite limited infrastructure and manpower, they were doing a good job in offering quality treatment to people. The Telangana government would take all measures to address their issues, he replied to a question over doctors staging protests in teaching hospitals.
